VMWare have long experience with virtual machines. Parallels also supports many flavors of Linux. If you buy a new Mac you have to buy another copy of Parallels. Parallels is $79.99 however, unlike earlier versions, the software is now licenced for one computer only not-transferable. There’s two modes – in one you run a single Windows program and it appears like a Mac program on the regular Mac desktop. It runs inside iOS without the need to reboot. Probably the gold standard for ‘Windows on Mac’ is Parallels now up to version 9. VM’s, as they are known, have been around for years. It’s done using virtual machines, in effect running Windows ‘inside’ Apple’s operating system. That’s certainly possible in various ways.
