![]() Their Style Matures Album to Album although, Deftones 4th Album was more experimental and they weren't in a very good head space as a band, so it ranks last in my opinion as well. In my opinion, Deftones' catalog is so varied and filled with quality material that it makes picking a favorite such a difficult task. Diamond Eyes has a very distinct feel to it that's hard for me to pinpoint: heavy in a kind of grungy way, but Chino's vocals have a classic quality to them- I want to say bluesy? Koi No Yokan is very bright and colorful. Saturday Night Wrist is very experimental and it gives me these futuristic vibes: if I ever get to listen to an album in space I swear it'll be this one. ![]() ![]() Their self-titled release has to be their darkest and most emotionally-heavy: you can feel the weight. White Pony is an instant classic and it's extremely dynamic. Around the Fur is sharp, heavy (filled with badass metal riffs) and so solid from front to back. Adrenaline is filled with adolescent angst/rage and makes me want to smash things. I'll add some personal descriptions, and hopefully that'll help you decide what to look into next. My list changes all the time, and that's what I love about Deftones. Didn't see my exact list, so I might as well.
